Moving the Lower Cross Member
Now we need to move the lower cross member into position. Since we will
be using a 0.25 inch thick material for the removable shelf, the top of
the extrusion will need to be 15.75 inches from the floor. We can do this
easily using AutoCAD® point filters.
Make sure that the AutoCAD® UCS is at World by picking the
button from the AutoQuoterX Toolbar. Enter the AutoCAD® Move
command and select the lower cross member you just inserted.
Press the Enter key to finish the selection process. When AutoCAD®
prompts you for a base point, select the Node point indicated by the
arrow in Figure 11.

When AutoCAD® prompts you for the destination point, type in .xy and
press return. AutoCAD® will now prompt you to identify the point from
which you wish to use the X and Y components. Type in @ (Shift + 2, above
the “Q” and “W” keys) and press return.
AutoCAD® will now prompt you for the Z component. Simply type in 15.75,
and press return. Your drawing should now look like the one in Figure
12.
